How is everyone this week? We have finished moving everything out of the old place and are now in the middle of unpacking. I kind of like this part. The worst part, when we actually moved our things over here, was Monday. It was over 100 degrees. The whole week has been over 100. Today it is finally down to 88. Still hot, but nothing like it has been. During the unpacking I found a couple of more WIP's that I am adding to my list for the Year of Projects. Here is the revised list:
1. Sidewalk Shawl
2. Japanese Flower Scarf
3. Multi-Stitch Blanket
4. Mom's Blanket
5. Granny Love Blanket
6. My Cardigan- photo below
7. Amiga Cowl
8. Sock Yarn Motif Scarf-photo below
9. Sock yarn slippers
10. One completed knit item
I had packed my projects so I went ahead and started my cardigan. It is called a Ribbon Yarn Jacket. I am using really soft worsted wt. yarn that I just happened to have enough for. I love the stitch.
I also found this project that I had been working on when I needed something small to carry with me.
This is theSock Yarn Motif Scarf. It is a third of the way to being done.
I have also started on the Sidewalk Shawl, but don't have photos yet. I will post photos of the Granny Love Blanket on Tuesday's Tallies. I would like to say that I won't add anything to the list until I have finished everything, but we will see.
Go check out everyone's lists for the Second Year of Projects. I will talk to everyone on Tuesday. :)
Moving in 100 degree heat does not sound fun at all! Hopefully the new place is airconditioned! Nice to have all your projects unearthed and ready to finish, huh? Be sure and show us a photo of the new house! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa,
DeleteI will show photos as soon as I get a little more unpacked. It is scary how much yarn I have found. Really scary. I will have to take pictures of that too. There is so much. I really can't buy anymore for a little while. He he.
Oh what a pretty stitch for that cardigan. Congratulations on a successful move, and that you've found back your WIPs so quickly just goes to show how efficiently you packed!
ReplyDeleteWe had a long time to get ready for the move. We found the house on May 8. There is still a lot of unpacking to go.
DeleteIt's sad when you start saying "Oh wow,it's only going to be 88 today? So nice!" isn't it? Been the same way here, darn triple digit weather! I love that motif book! I actually just cracked it open within the last week to pick out some motifs for a future project idea :)
ReplyDeleteThat book is great. You can make lots of things with the designs in it. I love it. Today was 82. It felt wonderful. Two months ago 82 would have been way too hot. We have gotten used to the heatwave.
DeleteCongrats on getting the move done, but I am so sorry it was so very hot. Summer has just arrived in Seattle this weekend--we were afraid it might skip us altogether. Both of our featured projects are so lovely--the multicolored scarf is to die for!
ReplyDelete*smiles and cheers*
Thank you, I love the sock yarn. It is so soft. It is the first time I have worked with such thin yarn and I really like the feel of it.
DeleteSo glad your move went well and the heat is dying a little bit, should make unpacking a bit more bearable. Great progress on the projects and I love the stitch in your ribbon jacket. Those motif's for the scarf looks so pretty and the bottom one has such a vintage feel to it.
ReplyDeleteThis will be the first sweater I have made for myself. I have made 8 for other people. If it ever gets cool here I will enjoy wearing it. Lol.
DeleteI can't wait to see the jacket/cardigan finished, a lovely color!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to see in the photos, but it is a gray/purple blend. It is baby yarn and so soft. I love the pattern. Can't remember the name of the library book I got it out of.
DeleteSo glad you got the move done, but 100 degrees sounds like hell! That book is amazing, I bought it but have yet to make anything from it. I love what you've made so far.
ReplyDeleteYou will love the book. I also have her border book. They both have such great tips, I have been crocheting for a long time and I still find helpful hints in her books.
Deletephew not sure i could manage a move in that heat!
ReplyDeletelove your project list too :0)
I am glad I joined. Hopefully I will get all those projects done. He he.
DeleteSuch pretty work! Wishing you every happiness in your new home, I hope the heat is more bearable soon.
ReplyDeleteWe are down in the 80's for a few days. Even though that is still hot, it feels great.
DeleteI love the colors on the sock yarn motif scarf. We had a heat wave here as well. I'm glad you are at the unpacking stage - it is much better than the packing stage!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Packing is no fun. Putting all the stuff away and decorating is fun. I will post photos as soon as I finish.
Deleteglad you had safe travels to your new home! loving those colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you, we are loving our new home. Even with all the boxes everywhere.
DeletePretty projects Kashi, I hope everything is beginning to settle down with you now.
ReplyDeleteWe are having fun organizing now. All the necessities are unpacked and now I am concentrating on making the place our own.
DeleteI love the colours in your sock yarn motifs, and that cardigan is gorgeous, it looks really warm and comfy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, if I get done in time I will have three new wraps and a new sweater for the fall and winter. I don't usually make things for myself so I am really enjoying those projects.
