Happy Friday!

Hello,
How is everyone today? I am glad the weekend is here. I came down with a rotten cold this week and felt pretty cruddy until today. When I got home from work yesterday there was a lovely little package in my mailbox. A few weeks ago I won a giveaway. My first one. Deb at A World Of Imagination sent me these goodies.
My daughter has already decided that the little bird is hers, and I already know what I am going to do with the fabric and the pretty little crocheted flowers. I filled the pincushion up right away.
I will use the little notebook to keep track of some of my projects. Needless to say, I was pretty happy when I opened my mailbox. I will show everyone what I have done with my goodies in a couple of days.
After work today I did way too much laundry. I haven't even gotten it all put away yet. I was too tired, so we ordered a pizza and I sat down to work on this...My Happy Ripple...
I started it last Friday and I have 34 rows done. I think it may be the biggest blanket yet.
I am really proud of this blanket. Except for the two balls of yarn I bought, I have used only my stash yarn for this project. I may clean out the baskets on this one. Room for more yarn? he he. I am really happy with this one since I wasn't sure if I wanted to join the Ripple Along with Heather and Lucy. I have two big blankets on the hook already.
After the huge blizzard we had here in February, when it was about 16 degrees below zero and it took my husband 3 hours to get home from work, Will asked me to make him a scarf. He has only ever asked for two things. A hat that I made for him early last winter and the scarf. I also made him a blanket. I make lots of things but have only made him the hat and a blanket. What do you make for a man? So when he asked for the scarf I was more than happy to oblige. I have had the toughest time trying to figure out which pattern to use for it. I tried knitting one, frogged it about 6 times and gave up. I am not that skilled at knitting yet. Then I started looking for ideas for a crocheted scarf. I liked the cable crochet scarf pattern that I saw on tv. Knit and Crochet Today is on every other day here at 5 in the morning. The pattern is also on Ravelry. I like the way it looks. I have added a few stitches to make it wider, but here it is so far...
It is really hard to see the cable pattern in the middle. Maybe I can get a better picture in the daylight tomorrow. I love the yarn though. It is Lion Brand Yarn Tweed Stripe. Tundra is the name. I love the self striping.
My husband is a really good guy. He is so good to me and our daughter. I hope he never tires of me because I really don't know what I would do without him. It hasn't been the easiest couple of years for our family. Will  lost his Mom two years ago and my stepdad passed away last winter. My knee replacement surgery turned out to be a really long and painful thing to go through. He never complained and he took care of me through the worst of it.  A hand made scarf is really nothing to show how much I appreciate and love him. I hope he likes it.
Tomorrow morning I am going grocery shopping and then coming home to finish putting away all the laundry. Then I have plans to work on my Christmas blanket. I was blocked on trying to figure out which pattern to do next. I think I have a plan. I will post pictures at the end of the weekend. Talk to all of you later. Thanks for stopping here.

It's Tuesday!!!

Hello,
I have come to LoVe Tuesday. I look forward to seeing everyone's progress and reading everyone's blogs.
Since I went back to work I have had a hard time finding my groove. I am not even working full-time yet, I don't know how I did it before. I am pretty organized, usually, but I have been struggling to get dinner made and straighten up the house, not to mention laundry. On days that I have to work I get up really early and have about an hour to myself before anyone else gets up, or before I have to get ready for work. I have a huge cup of coffee and spend some quality time with my yarn and hook. Here is what I have gotten done this week...
I completed 24 squares for my One-a-Day project. Gingerbread Girl hosts this group over at ravelry. It helps to keep me motivated. I wouldn't have attempted a blanket this large otherwise. I have 6 more purple discs to square and then finish the blue ones. 22 more of those. Then 100 multi-colored discs, then sew together. I am about 2/3 of the way done.
I also worked on my newest project, the Ripple Along with Heather and Lucy. This blanket is pretty big too, I love all the different colors and how it doesn't look like they will work together until you start to stitch them all together. Blanket Madness around here.
I joined this group against my better judgement at first. I felt it was silly with the other two blankets I have on the go right now. However, I am proud of the fact that I only bought two balls of yarn for this. I am using stash yarn for the rest and have even started adding colors I wasn't sure about. Maybe I can get my stash down to a workable level. These are my only wip's right now. That is ok since I do work on all three regularly. Nothing has been put aside and forgotten about, which is a habit of mine I have been working on fixing since I started on the One-a-Day group. I will never be a one project at a time person. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Talk to you soon.

Sunday

Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well. I have started a new blanket. I don't really know why. Lucy and Heather are doing a Ripple Along and I thought about it for a couple of days and then joined. I didn't want to go buy a bunch of new yarn (well, I wanted to but that wouldn't have been responsible). I went through my stash and only ended up buying two balls of yarn. I may need a couple of more but maybe not. Here is what I came up with.
I bought the dark purple and the huge ball of rose. I think this will look good. I am thinking of adding honey colored yarn that I have to it also. Not sure yet. It will be bed size, I am following Lucy's pattern, except I am using worsted wt. yarn and an I hook. It will be pretty big.
I finished up Autumn's little dolly blanket too...
Then I worked on the Christmas Blanket...
I am getting ready to spend a little time on this one right now. Just have to decide which stitches I am going with next.
Autumn and her Dad went out to the lake and took a few photos... I don't know what kind of birds these are, but they look kind of spooky..

Most of the leaves have already turned and are blowing off. It was so cold in September and so hot at the beginning of October, but it is still pretty outside...
I have also made great progress on my One-A-Day blanket, I will save that for Tuesday's Tallies. I aim to be on time with that post this week. I hope everyone has a great weekend. See you Tuesday.
