Hello everyone,
I can't believe it is November 15. Christmas is next month. Yikes. Once again I worked on a whole lot of things I can't show yet. We also had Autumn's birthday, she is 6 now. We had our first snow, all gone now. We had a birthday party with 19 5 and 6 year olds. THANK YOU to all the adults who helped. I couldn't have done it by myself.
Here is my progress...
Isn't it funny how hard we are on ourselves. I was sitting here thinking this isn't much, I should have more. Then I decided to give myself a break. I had these made by Sunday and was going to edge them in lavender yesterday and sew on three more strips (which would make the blanket half done). I have made 215 squares already and sewn 6 strips together. Sunday my daughter said her mouth hurt and she hadn't been feeling that well. I chalked it up to the party Saturday and too many sweets and not enough sleep. She said her tooth hurt. I looked in her mouth and she had a sore where the dentist has been working on her teeth. She has been going through dental work since September and was supposed to have two root canals. The dentist didn't do the root canals and said to keep an eye on the one tooth because the work he did was right on top of the nerve. We have been back and forth to the dentist due to pain. It is hard to diagnose a 6 year old child and he couldn't find any cause for the pain. So yesterday I woke up and started calling the dentist. He was out of town. I wasn't sure what to do next so I called our family doctor. Then my dentist got my message and called me. Both said to take her to any dentist who could get her in right away. Lordy. I left work and picked up Autumn at school, took her to local dentist and they said that the tooth had to be pulled. My poor little baby. She did really well. We got home and she slept from 4:00 pm until 10. Woke up crying and I gave her some Ibuprofen and she went back to sleep. Her face is swollen and she is not feeling very well. The ironic thing is that Autumn brushes her teeth 2 or 3 times a day and in april she was given a perfect dental check up. So that was yesterday.
Back to crochet... I added 10 stripes to my Happy Ripple...
It is over half done now. I need to take pictures in better light. That really dark color is purple not black. I love this blanket.
I also played around with some Christmas ornament type things from Attic24...
Like I said, the other crochet projects I am working on are for Christmas and I can't show them yet. Here are some pictures for Autumn's party..
Did you notice the party is mostly boys. That made me laugh, here we are with a pink themed party and most of the guests were little boys. I want to give a special thank you to Our Lord's Church in Solon Iowa. We are not even members of the church and they so kindly offered us the building for the party. I never could have fit 19 children and 7 adults in my home.
This last photo was our first snow. I woke up and saw it was snowing. Autumn came out and we got dressed and ran outside to play. It was 5:30 in the morning. Lol.
I love this photo. She was really happy, just one of those timing things with me snapping the picture at the wrong moment.
Lastly, you should head over to Gingerbreadgirl's blog. She is the Moderator for the One-a-Day group at Ravelry and she links all who want to show their progress on her Tuesday Tallies posts. It is really neat to watch everyone's progress. There are some really beautiful things being made.
