Tuesday's Tallies and My 100th Post

Hello everyone,
This is my 100th post. Hard for me to believe that I will have been blogging for a year on September 2. The One-A-Day group was what I blogged about in my first post, I showed the first square of my ill-fated Grandala Blanket. I have had so much fun with the One-A-Day group and it has really kept me motivated. Sometime this month I will reach 10,000 views too. I know a lot of blogs have grown more quickly than mine, but that doesn't really matter to me. I treasure all of my readers, especially Joan, my first ever follower. I didn't plan for the 100th post to be on Tuesday's Tallies, but it is very fitting I think. Here is my progress this week.
It has been a tough week in some ways. My eyes are still very sore and so red and swollen. It doesn't stop me from crochet though. I haven't been reading at all, I have been watching the Olympics though. The London Games have been really wonderful.
I have loads more I could say, but I think I should probably get off the computer and rest my sore eyes. I will talk to everyone in a couple of days. Carole hosts a link party for her One-A-Day group. Go see what lovely projects my crafty friends are working on. I will talk to everyone soon.

A Ta Dah

Hello,
I wanted to post the pattern for the bag I made for my friend Rachel, but my eyes are really bothering me. I have the pattern written out and ready to type up. Today my eyes have really been bad though. They hurt and I had to go back to the doctor.  Before they started to really bother me again, I finished an embroidery/applique project I have been working on. Here it is.
Sorry the photo is so poor, the light in here is bad. Here it is before I framed it.
This was a lot of fun to make. I used to do stuff like this all the time, before crochet took over my hobby life. Lol. All the pieces are appliqued on and then all the detail is embroidered.
I gave my friend, Rachel, the bag that I made for her. Here she is with Autumn and another lovely young lady in our summer program.
I think she liked it. Rachel, I am proud of you for deciding to back to your university. Have a great year! We will miss you.
I will try to post my Tuesday's Tallies tomorrow. It depends on how I feel. I promise to post the pattern for the bag in a day or two. Talk to everyone soon. :)

Year Of Projects Update August 5, 2012

Hello,
I hope everyone has had a great weekend. Yarn has kept me sane this weekend. I woke up Friday and started getting ready to go to work. I heard a really strange noise and went to go down to the basement to see what was going on. Well, the basement was flooding. Yay!. I won't go in to all of the details. We got it all sorted out. Next on the fun list, my daughter had conjunctivitis and wasn't feeling well. I took her to the doctor and got her drops and medication. That night my eyes started burning. You guessed it. I have it in both eyes. Not just one, but both. Yesterday I just gave up on house work or anything else and sat down on the couch to work on hobbies. My eyes were burning and I didn't feel great, but I embroidered and crocheted all afternoon. I worked on my Granny Love, an embroidery project, a secret crochet project and my Sidewalk Shawl.
Here is the progress on my Sidewalk Shawl.
I have completed 23 rows and have 3 and a half repeats left. Then the fringe and done. I am also making this as part of a CAL with Everything Zen, a group I help moderate on Ravelry. Some of the others aren't adding the fringe, but I am going to. Here is another shot.
This is going to be needing blocking. It looks kind of wonky, but what a fun project this is. I love it and can't wait to wear it.
I have finished writing out the pattern for the bag I made and I will post it tomorrow. I will post Granny Love progress on Tuesday's Tallies. I will talk to everyone soon. Have a great Sunday.

P.S. Are you watching the Olympics? How amazing was yesterday? I was very proud of the British. Six golds, and how great is Jessica Ennis?
I have to mention our wonderful American Swim Team too. Our women are fantastic. Such talent and the American Men's Team? Michael Phelps, you are too great for words. Twenty-two medals, 18 of them gold.
I don't just cheer for the American team though. I love the Olympics. I was so excited for the Jamaican track and field. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is my hero. She beat an American to the gold. I was proud of our team for getting silver, but how fabulous is this woman?
