Slippers

Hello,
 How is everyone today? I am glad it is Wednesday and that the weekend is getting closer. I am really looking forward to the holiday weekend. Three days off will be nice. I made these slippers for my friend, Ashleigh. She is the girl I talk about that came back from maternity leave on Monday. She turned 21 last week and I wanted to make her something that she could use and enjoy. She loves purple and we both wear slippers in the nursery in the winter. I had a pattern for some slippers that are made with sock yarn. I got half way through and hated them. I like the yarn, but not with that pattern. So I ditched the pattern and picked out some different yarn. I have lots, lol. Here is what I came up with. I kind of like them.

She put them on as soon as she opened them and wore them the rest of the day. It made me feel good that she liked them so much. She is a special girl and I am so glad she is back at work. Here they are on her feet.

These were super easy. I used a G hook and worsted wt. yarn. To start ch 4 and join with a slip stitch.
Row 1: ch 3 and then 9 dc in circle. Turn. Ch 3 counts as dc here and throughout.
Row 2: ch 3, dc in first dc. 2 dc in each dc around. Join with slip stitch. Turn. (20 dc)
Row 3: ch 3,  2 dc in next stitch, dc in next stitch. *2dc in next stitch, dc in next stitch* around. Join with slip stitch. Turn. (30 dc)
Row 4-9: dc around. Join with slip stitch at end of each round. When you get to the end of the 9th row, measure. These were 4 inches (10cm) from start to top of row.
Row 10-20: ch3, 27 dc then turn. Don't join at end of rows. You will have two stitches left on toe part. Continue with 28 dc in each row. Measure until slipper is long enough. I used eleven rows.
Row 12: ch 3, dc in next 11 dc. Fasten off leaving about a 10 in. tail for sewing. Row 12 will only be about half as long as the other rows. Sew along side of row 12 attaching to row eleven. This will make more of a heel and not a point at the back of the foot.
I attached flowers at the top of the toe and it was as simple as that. Takes about an hour or so.
