Hello,
How is everyone today? Time for Tuesday's Tallies. I love looking at all the projects in this group. Some have finished the first projects and are now on new ones. And some are working on huge projects that will take up to a year to complete. This was the first group I joined on Ravelry and I still love it. Time for some updates. Here is my granny ripple, I am calling this the Stylin' Ripple. I used Stylecraft. So I am a dork.
Here is a closer shot, you can't really see the green on the one above.
Where did that foot come from. I am not the best photographer. I am really enjoying the Stylecraft yarn. I am going to order more next time I buy more yarn. I might get two packs next time. It is really soft and lighter than the worsted wt. I am so used to working with. I think I like it more.
I mentioned in my last post that my daughter had gotten the flu and that all the linens in the house were messed up. Well, unfortunately, my beloved Grandala blanket was one of the things that was messed on. It was nasty and thankfully I used acryllic yarn. There was no way to clean the blanket without putting it in the washing machine. I have never had a problem washing acryllic blankets before, I have not made a granny blanket before this one either. Needless to say, a whole lot of it came unraveled. I want to cry. It took so long to sew this thing together. If I had known how to join as you go when I started it, I don't think this would have happened. Now I have a lot of mending to do. I was thinking of adding to the border anyway. I have a pillow that I am making with the leftover yarn and it is the same as the blanket, except bordered with dark purple. I will show it in tomorrow's post also. So after I mend it, I think I will go ahead and put the purple border on it.
There are holes like this throughout the blanket. A very valuable lesson learned. Weave the ends in with a much longer piece of yarn than you think you need. That will be my weekend project. I am not sure if there is a link up for all the One-A-Day projects, but I am off to see what everyone else has been up to. Talk to you tomorrow.
Ripple looks very stylish ;-). Great tip on the granny blanket, I am kind of lazy with ends and this shows how important they are!
ReplyDeleteOh Kashi poor you. Hope everyone is well now and your blanket is 'on the mend' too.
ReplyDeleteI once accidentally put my first pair of hand knitted socks in the washing machine and felted them! I was SO upset! And no one else really understood - ah well.
Lots of love, Judy x
