Year Of Projects Update

 2Yopfloral.jpg

Hello,
Here it is Sunday again. I am ready for some summer time relaxation. I know my husband is. We have finished cleaning the other house and can now concentrate on getting our new house just the way we like it. We have been so busy. Both of us worked extra hours this week as well as trying to get finished unpacking and cleaning up the other place. I haven't gotten much crochet time in. I did make some progress on my YOP though. Here is my cardigan.
I am ready to start making the two front panels and the two sleeves. I am excited about this sweater. It will be the first one I have made for myself.
I also got some work done on the Sidewalk Shawl. I am making this in a CAL in the group Everything Zen. I help moderate this group that my lovely friend Karisma started on Ravelry. Awesome group. Nice people over there.
This only shows 9 or 10 rows. I took the photo a few days ago. I could not get my camera to upload my current pictures this afternoon. Kodak is updating all the programs and after an hour of trying to set up the new system I decided to take a break, write today's post and finish the upgrade later. I finished row 14 this morning. I can't wait for cooler weather so I can wear my new things. It is very hot right now and hard to imagine that the snow will eventually come. Lol. If you live in the Midwest, you know what I am talking about. This summer has been brutal.
That is about it for me right now. I have to get supper out of the oven, baked macaroni and cheese, then finish some laundry and relax. Talk to everyone on Tuesday's Tallies. :)

    1. We are so happy to be here. After dinner I was cleaning up, I told my husband 'It is so much easier to keep the house clean when you are excited about living in it.' We are enjoying it here already.

    1. I love shawls. I am still working on the Japanese Flower Scarf too. I just found it today after two weeks hiding from me. As long as I am done with them by the cool weather I will be very happy. Talk to you soon. XOXO

    1. Thanks Barbina. I am going to sit and crochet right now. It is around 39c/100f right now. To hot for much of anything. Even with the airconditioner on.

  8. Hi Kashi! I'm thinking I need to join the YOP so I can finish some of my stuff I've started. I'm excited about the CAL. I'm loving the shawl pattern so far. I can't wait to see your sweater. That is one thing I've never made. It's kind of scary! Have a great week!

    1. One-a-day keeps me on track and YOP helps me stay focused. Otherwise I start too many things at once.

  9. I think we should trade some of your US heat for some of our UK rain, then everyone would have a perfect summer. Looking forward to seeing your Japanese Flowers!

    1. I really wish the UK could give us some rain and we could give you some summer warmth. We are having a heatwave and a drought that is horrible for the crops.

  10. Your cardigan is really coming along nicely; can't wait to see you wearing it in a post soon! With all that heat I can't imagine an oven-baked supper!

    1. The last thing I wanted to do was turn the oven on. My husband never asks for anything, so when he asked for mac n cheese, I had to make it for him.

  11. Your sweater is looking nice...I love things made in "white". especially clothes...I have tried making a sweater for myself once and it came out way tooo big...and I really thought I was doing great until I almost finish it and realized I did something terribly wrong...good luck and can't wait to see it finished!

    1. This will be the first sweater I have completed for myself. I was really excited about one last year and got the back done and realized it would fit an elephant. I was only making a size large. I checked gauge and followed the pattern. No one else on Ravelry seemed to have the problem. There are hundreds of the same pattern on people's project pages. It was something I did. I frogged it and gave up. This is a different pattern and so far so good.

  13. Goodness, sounds like you've busy and then some. I'm afraid to read more blogs, I've lost track of the number of people moving and that makes me think "WORK". Wonder why so many folks are moving, is it to move up or town in houses, work related? We laugh...moved in here (our 1st home), when I pregnant. My DD is now 27...we laugh cause we talk about how wise we were to never upsized cause now that we're seniors....we don't have a need to downsize, lol. Not like we planned it that way really, it just happened. The sweater is looking awesome. AND, I'm your newest follower!

  14. Those of us in the UK would happily take some of your heat - it's been a miserable summer here so far :S

Sounds like a busy week, and good luck with your cardigan - I think the first thing you make for yourself to wear is always special :)
