Japanese Flower Scarf

 takingpartYOP2.jpg

Hello,
This is my favorite kind of Sunday. It is raining and I am spending the whole day doing things in the house and with Autumn. I will make a big Sunday meal and I am going to be doing a lot of baking. Tomorrow my friend (that I have missed more than anything) is coming back to work and I am planning lots of baked goodies for everyone. Last week was also a very long week with lots of changes and I think we all need some treats. Muffins and cookies and who knows what else. Lol. I love an excuse to bake and not have tons of baked treats sitting in my house.
I finished my Japanese Flower Scarf last night and it was done blocking this morning. I love it. When the temperature drops, I am ready.
I tried to take a photo of me wearing it. I will get another shot of it with the jacket I intend to wear it with, my husband can take that photo. Self photography isn't my thing apparently.
With my arm holding the shawl up, I think I look like a tank. Lol. My favorite flower is the teal and green one on the bottom of my shoulder, under the pink and yellow one.  I love it and I am so happy I have finally finished it. I have a little yarn left. I think enough for a hat for a friend of mine. What a soft hat it will make. This yarn is so nice. Debbie Bliss Andes
My Year Of Projects list is starting to shrink.
1. Sidewalk Shawl- Done
2. Japanese Flower Scarf- Done
3. Multi-Stitch Blanket
4. Mom's Blanket
5. Granny Love Blanket
6. My Cardigan
7. Amiga Cowl
8. Sock Yarn Motif Scarf
9. Sock Yarn slippers
10. One completed knit item
11. Slouchy tote for my college friend.- Done
12. Blanket for Sawyer.
13. Blanket for Wyatt.
14. Blanket for Sarah.
15. Nativity Scene for my SIL.
Three out of 15 are finished. Not too bad.  I am 1/3 of the way through the Granny Love Blanket. I am finishing Mom's Blanket this week. Her birthday is in 3 weeks. And I am going to make the slippers today, I think. I may have too many things planned today. Ha ha. If I can get that Multi-Stitch Blanket done by the holidays, I will be super happy. Actually, I plan on getting all of this done by Christmas. Then I will have to make another list for the second half of the Year Of Projects. Not a problem. I will talk to everyone soon. Have a great Sunday.

  2. Your Japanese flowers look great, really bright and colourful...I've tried taking photos of me in the mirror before, only to discover my mirror wasn't that dust-free!

Enjoy your day, I love days with lots packed in, especially baking, my favourite!

    1. Thank you. I don't think any two are the same. I will have to check now. When I made the green one I had wished I had made a couple more that way.

  6. Gorgeous scarf. I think my fave is the orange/red/yellow flower further down your arm. Make sure your husband takes a nice photo showing all the details :) Maybe a black top underneath so that the colours really pop ?!

Enjoy your baking! It's too hot for that here, but once the sun goes down I plan to make some quinoa stuffed peppers to pack for lunches through the week.

    1. Thank you. I like the orange one too. I don't like too much orange in any project, but a little really adds something.

    1. Thank you, you are so sweet. We have needed the rain here really bad. It rained all day and now it is just muggy. Small price to pay for the rain though.
I am working on a pair of slippers at the moment. Should be finished before I go to work in the morning. I will post them as soon as I get them done. Talk to you soon. XOXO

  12. Pretty, pretty scarf! I love the way that particular colour combinations speak to us more than others, the Babettes were a constant revelation that way. I hope you enjoyed your baking day.

  13. Gorgeous scarf, it's so cheerful and makes me smile. And I agree, self photos are hard, I always look really stupid in them!

  14. Stunning! I really like it. :) We are in for some big changes at work this coming Fall, (switching over completely to Electronic Medical Records), and people are starting to feel the stress-especially me as my whole job that I do now, will go away and no one is sure yet what my job will be...sigh. Hope this week goes well for you. It is sunny and nice here in Seattle, but I know those cozy rainy Sundays are in my near future. :)

  16. I want to thank everyone for the kind comments. I try to answer all the comments, but seem to have fallen a bit behind. I do read each one though. This scarf is my favorite thing that I have made for myself. It was fun to work on too.
