MPAY and a Ta Dah

Good morning,
Well, it is Sunday morning here anyway. I have recently been watching other bloggers participate in My Place and Yours. Then that blog shut down and now you can find it here. This week's theme is your favorite mug. This will be the first time I join in, but it starts every week on Saturday and the link is open all week. Here is my trusty, very large, mug. I have had other prettier ones but they have all broken. This one is tough and holds the huge amount of my daily mocha. I think this mug holds about 2 1/2 cups.
Anyone who reads my blog regularly, or knows me personally, knows that I don't sleep very much and am up by 4 most days. This is probably why. Lol. I love my coffee. Thanks Deb for taking over this weekly fun.

Now I need opinions from all my crafty and creative friends. I finished this blanket today.
I made this with the scraps left over from my Happy Ripple, which was a stash buster to begin with. It is from Lucy's Blanket Statement pattern, I just added more squares and did the border a little bit differently. Out of all the yarn I had, this is what is left.
I had planned on giving this as a kind of Thank You gift to an adult. Do you think this is suitable for an adult? Or should we keep it and use it on my daughter's bed?
I love the blanket. I want your opinions though. I hate to give it someone and have them not like it, or think it was too loud or something. Maybe I am just being insecure.
Autumn and I are going to go to the movies and out to lunch this afternoon. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Talk to you all soon.

  1. hi I'm sure any adult would love to be given your blanket,I know I would, but I'm also a bit selfish in thinking how much work I've put into it to give it away, youv'e obviously got someone in mind for it,and they will love you for giving it to them

  2. I think that would be a beautiful and very generous gift. I would be delighted to receive it. I am not sure I could part with it after all the hard work. It is a stunner :) x

  3. I genuinely believe that nobody is too old to have colour and freshness in their lives. I am am sure the potential recipient would treasure it, but I can understand the temptation to keep it in the family!

  4. Its lovely and I think it would suit an adult just as well as a child. Who would not want a nice warm snuggly blankie made with love?

  5. I love your blanket.. it depends on the adult, though. Some people are so into "modern" stuff that they pooh pooh granny square crochet. But if they decorate with vintage, then they'd love it. But make sure it goes to someone who'll treasure it, or keep it yourself! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  6. I agree with Joan. I think you should give it to the intended recipient. Anyone should love that because it's pretty and you made it.

  7. Thanks everyone! I think I was just insecure. The comments helped. The woman I am going to give it to is always commenting on the things I make, so I wanted to give her something to show how much she is appreciated. I will tell everyone who it is at the end of the May. There is a chance she looks on here and I don't want to blow it.

    1. I know, it is a big cup. He he. I am sluggish without it in the morning. Right now I am waiting for my coffee, there is nothing like the first sip.

  10. Thanks so much for joining Kashi. Something about running something like this brings all my insecurities crawling out of the woodwork. I've fixed the link thingy and it's working now. I put the wrong piece of code in. I hope you do join in again. I do like your mug but I really love your blanket. It's just beautiful, anyone would be thrilled to get it. I must say it's lovely to have new blogs to visit, thanks for dropping by, I hope you come again!!

  13. Hello!!! I LOVE your cup!!!! As for the blanket (which is gorgeous by the way) I think it would make a wonderful gift but would look just as beautiful on your daughter's bed... (not much help I know) .... what does your heart say? Keep it or give it away ..... tough call. lol x

  14. that coffe mug looks very good ... I can't understand why grown ups shouldn't like a colourful patchy beauty. But then I'm not the most reliably source on those decisions, I have a green shelf, a red carpet almost matching red/yellow/orange bed cover&sheets, blue walls and curtains ...

  15. The blanket is fab. I have to say i'd be selfish and keep it, its too pretty to give it away unless you are 100% sure the person would appreciate it and use it.
