Tuesday' Tallies

Hello everyone,
I can't believe it is November 15. Christmas is next month. Yikes. Once again I worked on a whole lot of things I can't show yet. We also had Autumn's birthday, she is 6 now. We had our first snow, all gone now. We had a birthday party with 19 5 and 6 year olds. THANK YOU to all the adults who helped. I couldn't have done it by myself.
  Here is my progress...
Isn't it funny how hard we are on ourselves. I was sitting here thinking this isn't much, I should have more. Then I decided to give myself a break. I had these made by Sunday and was going to edge them in lavender yesterday and sew on three more strips (which would make the blanket half done). I have made 215 squares already and sewn 6 strips together. Sunday my daughter said her mouth hurt and she hadn't been feeling that well. I chalked it up to the party Saturday and too many sweets and not enough sleep. She said her tooth hurt. I looked in her mouth and she had a sore where the dentist has been working on her teeth. She has been going through dental work since September and was supposed to have two root canals. The dentist didn't do the root canals and said to keep an eye on the one tooth because the work he did was right on top of the nerve. We have been back and forth to the dentist due to pain. It is hard to diagnose a 6 year old child and he couldn't find any cause for the pain. So yesterday I woke up and started calling the dentist. He was out of town. I wasn't sure what to do next so I called our family doctor. Then my dentist got my message and called me. Both said to take her to any dentist who could get her in right away. Lordy. I left work and picked up Autumn at school, took her to local dentist and they said that the tooth had to be pulled. My poor little baby. She did really well. We got home and she slept from 4:00 pm until 10. Woke up crying and I gave her some Ibuprofen and she went back to sleep. Her face is swollen and she is not feeling very well. The ironic thing is that Autumn brushes her teeth 2 or 3 times a day and in april she was given a perfect dental check up. So that was yesterday.
Back to crochet... I added 10 stripes to my Happy Ripple...
It is over half done now. I need to take pictures in better light. That really dark color is purple not black. I love this blanket.
I also played around with some Christmas ornament type things from Attic24...

Like I said, the other crochet projects I am working on are for Christmas and I can't show them yet. Here are some pictures for Autumn's party..

Did you notice the party is mostly boys. That made me laugh, here we are with a pink themed party and most of the guests were little boys. I want to give a special thank you to Our Lord's Church in Solon Iowa. We are not even members of the church and they so kindly offered us the building for the party. I never could have fit 19 children and 7 adults in my home.
This last photo was our first snow. I woke up and saw it was snowing. Autumn came out and we got dressed and ran outside to play. It was 5:30 in the morning. Lol.
I love this photo. She was really happy, just one of those timing things with me snapping the picture at the wrong moment.
Lastly, you should head over to Gingerbreadgirl's blog. She is the Moderator for the One-a-Day group at Ravelry and she links all who want to show their progress on her Tuesday Tallies posts. It is really neat to watch everyone's progress. There are some really beautiful things being made.

  1. Lovely blanket progress - how did you do that in amongst everything else you have done! Your poor daughter! Teeth problems are awful at any age...sounds like it was an awful day for you both. You are SO busy... It made me tired just reading about it! I hope your daughter is healing nicely now :)x

  2. Thank you so much, Autumn is doing pretty well today, all things considered. Now I am off to work.

  3. what a busy busy week! fab progress on your blanket and other projects.
I do hope your poor little lades teeth get sorted out real soon as there is nothing worse than tooth ache poor lil lady.

  4. I hope your daughter starts to feel better soon. Tooth ache is horrible!
Your blanket is looking great, I'm amazed you got so much done with all you had on.
I like those decoration, they are going to look great.
How wonderful to have been able to get out and enjoy the snow! I don't know if I would have braved it that early!

  5. Hi!
What a busy week for you. Love your circles and the colors your using. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

  6. Your poor daughter, ouch, I feel for her!

You are definitely being hard on yourself, you are doing so much! Both your projects you've shown look great and I can only imagine your secret ones do too!

    The cakes look scrummy

  7. Poor little princess. I hope she feels better soon. I love the way your blanket is coming along. All the different swirls of colour make for a really happy feeling! I especially love the circle in the bottom right hand corner.

  8. What wonderful progress you're making.
I'm sorry your little one had a sore tooth that had to be pulled.
Let me tell you that sometimes genetics can give you wonky teeth. I'm am victim of this.

  9. Oh dear I hope she starts to feel better soon, tooth pain is horrible. I find myself doing the same thing sometimes, thinking I should have done more and than realizing i just need to give myself a break too, what you've done is heaps especially with a party in the week. It's all looking great xx

  10. Thanks to each and everyone of you. Autumn seems to be doing alright at the moment. Kids are so tough. I love Tuesday and love reading all of your wonderful comments.

  11. Oh she must be suffering so much. Hope she feels better soon. Your ripples look brilliant. Thats loads of progress, don't be so hard on yourself.

  12. Poor Autumn, there is nothing worse than a sore tooth. I had a root canal about 6 weeks ago and it was just awful, poor little thing must have been miserable. You are amazing, you get so much done I am so impressed, I achieve about a quarter of what you do each week!

  13. Oh dear! Happy Birthday to Autumn and I'm so sorry she had to go through such a traumatic event :(. My 9 year old had to have a tooth pulled when she was 7 and it was awful!

Your crochet progress is looking fabulous! You have been very busy!

  14. Hope your Daughter feels well soon and don't be too hard on yourself. My Daughter had a perfect check up, cleans like you should and still ended up with an abscess and having a tooth out. These things just can't be helped.

Love your progress and considering what has happened this week give yourself a pat on the back x

  15. Your poor daughter, I hope her teeth aren't hurting anymore now, she must have been very brave.

Great progress - as always! Those ornaments are next on my list of things to do!

  16. Looking amazing!!!!

And that last pic is just so sweet :)

  17. Looked like a fun party, love the cake. Your ripple blanket is gorgeous, I hope your daughter feels better soon.
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it.
