Well, I am finally ready for the big day. I have to work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but other than that I don't have any plans. Just to enjoy the time of year. I have really enjoyed some parts of this year. The blogging thing has been great. There were a lot of things this year that I didn't enjoy at all. So, I am really ready for the new year to start. I won't go into the bad things. I am generally a happy person and don't want to dwell on negatives or bring anyone else down. Let us all just have a peaceful, happy and healthy year to come.
I finished my Christmas makes...
A little Cloche for someone... Then there is the Scarf. I frogged four different patterns before I gave up and came up with my own...
My poor husband, who lovingly puts up with me, asked for a scarf at the end of last winter. I learned to knit and tried to make him one. I never liked it and frogged it. Then I tried several cable crochet patterns. They came out too stiff. I finally decided I could come up with my own pattern for him. It only took one day to make it. It is soft and not too stiff. Just in time for Christmas and the coming bad weather.
For the last two months I have been subbing for my boss, who was on maternity leave. She had a beautiful little baby girl. Love her. Anyway, she came back to work last week so I am back to part-time. I have loved having time to spend with my daughter and do some Christmassy things. Last year I worked at the nursing home in the recreation department, this is the busiest time of year at the care center and I was always working, late hours, weekends. So this year it is great to have time with my little girl. We went and saw Santa...
Santa just had his knee replaced. I can relate, he he. He is the same Santa that we have gone to see since Autumn was born. I also took her to the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie and to lunch. It was all a surprise to her and she kept telling me "You are the best Mama ever". We also made cookies and gingerbread. Tonight I am making toffee. My husband's favorite. I was going to do it yesterday, never got the chance. We also spent a little time crafting. I helped Autumn make this little owl...
She picked out the colors and stuffed it. I did the stitching.
I am looking forward to the week between Christmas and New Year's. I am off and am happy to spend Autumn's Christmas break with her. I have more FO's to show, but have to wait until the gift giving is all done. I hope everyone is enjoying this Holiday Season. See you all soon.
For what? LOL! I'm assuming Christmas?

ReplyDeleteI am still sitting here laughing that my post went up with no text. Apparently for about a half hour.

ReplyDeleteYour husband will be so delighted, one of the first things I made when I learnt to crochet was a scarf for Mr C and he still adores it every winter out it comes and he wraps it around his neck with such pride hehe. Merry Christmas. xx
ReplyDeleteI love your crochet gifts, they are brilliant. I also love the fact that you have had some quality time with your little one, I'm going to try and do that with my two this week as well.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I am glad you left that first comment or I wouldn't have known my post was out with just a title. I still giggle thinking about it. People would have thought the stress of the holidays had gotten to me or something. LOL. Our Santa has had a bad year and doesn't look very happy. His wife passed a few months ago. He is still there for the kids though and they love him. He just doesn't smile too much. Poor fella. Merry Christmas!
