Tuesday's Tallies-Granny Love Update

Hello,
I am enjoying my coffee in my new kitchen. I love it. I can sit at the computer and look out the window to see our neighborhood. Nothing much going on at the moment, it is 4:30 am. So calm and pretty right now. Hard to believe it will probably be back up around 100F/38C this afternoon. It is summer though and I am having a great time. Last year I was still recovering from my knee replacement and wasn't at my best, kind of grumpy.
I put in a bit of work on Granny Love this week. 14 squares total. They are shown here with last week's squares. When I get home tonight I plan on sewing in ends and then making a start on joining them. 298 squares to go. Ha ha ha.
The lovely Gingerbreadgirl hosts One-A-Day and a link party so we can see everyone's work. There are some really beautiful projects out there, go have a look. Talk to everyone soon. :)

  2. They look more and more lovely every week Kashi. I should imagine that with temperatures like that 4.30 am is by far the most pleasant time of day.

    1. This summer has been the worst I have had here in Iowa. The crops are suffering, people are cranky. We aren't the only state having heat and drought either. Hopefully we will cool off soon. Talk to you soon. XOXO

    1. The funny thing is, I used to hate granny squares. I think it was the colors they used to be made in. Lol. Now they are one of my favorite things to crochet.

    1. Thank you, purples, greens and pinks have always been my favorite. For the last year I have been trying to make more colorful things. I think this will be a success.

    1. It will fit on our queen size bed and be as large as the quilt that is already on it. It gets really cold here in Iowa. Hard to believe right now, it has been over 100f for weeks. Lol.

  7. I have to ask what on earth were you doing up at 4.30am! :)

Well done on having so many squares now, I wish you'd sewn the ends in at the time so you didn't have to now - unless you enjoy it! - but I'm sure they'll be done soon.

Do we get to see your new kitchen?? :D

    1. I am strange, I get up at 4 every morning. Even on days off. I don't sleep as much as most people and I really enjoy my time to myself before the rest of the world wakes up.
I usually sew my ends in as I go, but I couldn't find my needles until last night. Somehow they weren't with my crafting things. Lol. That's what happens when your husband helps pack. It is ok though, it is only this row that isn't sewn in. Twenty odd squares won't kill me.
I will show the kitchen and the rest of the house very soon. I should be completely done with the unpacking sometime this week. Talk to you soon. XOXO

  8. Beautiful squares. Wish I could wake up early with grace and ease. I am a little grumpy each morning as I try very hard to get used to our new lifestyle. Been six months now and still can't seem to adjust. ;-) I really am not a morning person. LOL Well not in winter anyway.

    1. When I was in my twenties I worked 3-11pm and wouldn't get up until 11 or 12 everyday. Somewhere around 30 I went to morning shift. For the first time in my whole life I would be up at 5 or before everyday and I discovered I really liked it. Now that I am getting older, staying in bed to sleep in isn't an option. I get too achey. I also love my mornings before anyone else is awake. You will get used to the changes in your lifestyle. Just takes a long time to change habits. Talk to you soon. XOXO
