Hello everyone,
I can't believe it is November 15. Christmas is next month. Yikes. Once again I worked on a whole lot of things I can't show yet. We also had Autumn's birthday, she is 6 now. We had our first snow, all gone now. We had a birthday party with 19 5 and 6 year olds. THANK YOU to all the adults who helped. I couldn't have done it by myself.
Here is my progress...
Isn't it funny how hard we are on ourselves. I was sitting here thinking this isn't much, I should have more. Then I decided to give myself a break. I had these made by Sunday and was going to edge them in lavender yesterday and sew on three more strips (which would make the blanket half done). I have made 215 squares already and sewn 6 strips together. Sunday my daughter said her mouth hurt and she hadn't been feeling that well. I chalked it up to the party Saturday and too many sweets and not enough sleep. She said her tooth hurt. I looked in her mouth and she had a sore where the dentist has been working on her teeth. She has been going through dental work since September and was supposed to have two root canals. The dentist didn't do the root canals and said to keep an eye on the one tooth because the work he did was right on top of the nerve. We have been back and forth to the dentist due to pain. It is hard to diagnose a 6 year old child and he couldn't find any cause for the pain. So yesterday I woke up and started calling the dentist. He was out of town. I wasn't sure what to do next so I called our family doctor. Then my dentist got my message and called me. Both said to take her to any dentist who could get her in right away. Lordy. I left work and picked up Autumn at school, took her to local dentist and they said that the tooth had to be pulled. My poor little baby. She did really well. We got home and she slept from 4:00 pm until 10. Woke up crying and I gave her some Ibuprofen and she went back to sleep. Her face is swollen and she is not feeling very well. The ironic thing is that Autumn brushes her teeth 2 or 3 times a day and in april she was given a perfect dental check up. So that was yesterday.
Back to crochet... I added 10 stripes to my Happy Ripple...
It is over half done now. I need to take pictures in better light. That really dark color is purple not black. I love this blanket.
I also played around with some Christmas ornament type things from Attic24...
Like I said, the other crochet projects I am working on are for Christmas and I can't show them yet. Here are some pictures for Autumn's party..
Did you notice the party is mostly boys. That made me laugh, here we are with a pink themed party and most of the guests were little boys. I want to give a special thank you to Our Lord's Church in Solon Iowa. We are not even members of the church and they so kindly offered us the building for the party. I never could have fit 19 children and 7 adults in my home.
This last photo was our first snow. I woke up and saw it was snowing. Autumn came out and we got dressed and ran outside to play. It was 5:30 in the morning. Lol.
I love this photo. She was really happy, just one of those timing things with me snapping the picture at the wrong moment.
Lastly, you should head over to Gingerbreadgirl's blog. She is the Moderator for the One-a-Day group at Ravelry and she links all who want to show their progress on her Tuesday Tallies posts. It is really neat to watch everyone's progress. There are some really beautiful things being made.

Happy Thursday
Hello,
I wanted to add the things I left out of yesterday's post. I spent most of last week working on a Christmas present that I can't show anyone yet. I love it though. Then Sunday was my husband's birthday. He had to work so we went out last Friday and took Will to dinner and did a little birthday shopping. He wanted a speaker for his ipod. Better if he chooses those things on his own. Then we went to our (used to be) favorite restaurant. We had the worst service. I was already so tired that it made me mad. Autumn and I go out to eat breakfast on the weekend. Will doesn't like to go out to eat very much. There is one restaurant he likes and the last few times we have been there the service has been terrible. Oh well. The food was good, even if we had to wait an hour for it. Lol. We had fun though. I made him a cake on Sunday, Autumn and I wanted to eat it before he got home, but we were good.
This cake was so good! Dark chocolate with butter cream and toffee chips. There is no more cake left. I love making cakes and it is a good thing. Tonight I have to make 50 cupcakes and tomorrow night two birthday cakes. My little baby is turning 6 tomorrow. She is taking cupcakes to school and we are also taking cupcakes the nursery school where I work. Autumn rides the bus there on days I am working and then I get off and we come home. I just started to work there in September, but Autumn went to pre-school there for two years.
I have been trying to figure out the pattern for this Christmas tree garland. The pattern is not available and I can't find the magazine anywhere.
It looks ok. I think the top needs to be a little more pointed, not so flat. Then my oldest friend from grade school asked me if I could make her twin nephews each a hooded sweater for Christmas. Her twin daughters got the first two I made, and Autumn wears one all the time too. The sweaters take about 20 hours each to work up. I think they will be really cute.
The first one is three shades of green and a brown border. The second one will be three shades of blue with the brown border.
The boys are cute, blonde blue eyed two year olds. This week is full, but I am hoping to get them done next week so I can get them sent off to California. I will talk to everyone soon. Have to get ready for work now.

Work In Progress Wednesday
Hello everyone,
I missed Tuesday's Tallies and I haven't posted in over a week. I can't say I have been any busier than normal I just haven't gotten around to posting. I worked on a Christmas present last week that took up most of my time. I will show that after the gift has been given. I did work on my One-a-Day projects too.
I have a whole basket of squares ready to sew together. It is hard to work on though, it is so big and takes up so much space. I usually work on it when everyone is asleep.
I worked on the Happy Ripple too. I only got 6 stripes done this week. I am close to half way done with this one.
GingerbreadGirl hosts the One-a-Day group and you can see everyone's progress over on her blog.
I was going to write a long post today and catch up, however, I have to go get birthday presents for my daughter and since my husband is off today, this is my only chance to go out alone. I will talk to everyone tomorrow and post the rest of what I have been up to.

Tuesday's Tallies, November
Hello everyone,
I can't believe it is Tuesday again. This week was super busy. Four parties, trick or treating and finding time to work on my One-a-Day. Other than the two hats and scarves I made, I didn't get much crochet done. Here is my Grandala blanket.
I actually made 18 squares this week, but I am sewing them together now and that takes sooo much time.
I did a little work on my Happy Ripple too. I think it may have ended up being a stripe a day. I have added it to my One-a-Day goals.
It is folded in half, There are half made blankets all over my living room. Lol. Check out everyone else's work over at Gingerbreadgirl's blog. I love seeing what everyone has done.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and Halloween. I will close with pictures of my favorite work in progress..
This was on the way to the last of the four parties. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Happy Halloween Weekend!
Hello everyone,
We are in the middle of birthday madness this weekend. My little one went to her first birthday party yesterday. It was a costume party and it was a lot of fun. She went as Little Red Riding Hood.
I made the cape last summer when I was still mostly on the couch after knee surgery. I didn't have a pattern or a plan. It turned out cute though. We bought her little friend a gift and then Friday night I made this to add to the present.
Hats and scarves are always appreciated in this part of the world. It gets really cold here, below zero is nothing new to us. Then I came home and started making party food for another one of her little friends who is having a party today. Her Mother and I used to work together. She is in nursing and I used to be an activities director for the local nursing home. Planning parties was one of the things I did on a regular monthly basis. Sometimes we would have two or three parties. Anyway, she asked if I could make the food for her daughter's party. Lilly and Autumn are only 10 days apart in age and have been friends since they were two. I was happy to say yes. I made Mummy Dogs, Rice Krispy Treats, 50 cupcakes, bread fingers and pizza dip (it looks like blood, but I didn't get a picture) Worms in Dirt, fruit punch and chips and dip and a big bowl of candy. I will try to get more pictures at the party if I am not too busy.
The bread rose a little too much and the bread fingers look strange, but all in all I think it turned out pretty well. We are getting ready to take the food over and plate it up on spooky platters and all the fun Halloween decorations. When I finished that I made Lilly a hat too.
My daughter is a ham and was happy to model it for the camera. I love making hats. It only takes about an hour of my time and they look so cute.
I really want to thank everyone for all the really nice comments I am getting on my posts. The biggest question I get is how do I get my crocheting done. Well, I am a very fast crocheter. I don't know why. I started crocheting 3 years ago and have never looked back. Lol. The other thing is, I don't really sleep as much as most people. I get up at 4 most days and have an hour or two to myself before I have to start doing anything else.
This is what it looks like here around 4 or 5 am. Sunday is my favorite. Knit and Crochet Today is on at 5 am and I am on the couch with my Happy Ripple. At 6 I started making food for the party. Now we are getting ready to go and I have a little bit of time. Autumn is going to be a Fairy Princess, yes another costume party. I haven't gotten her dressed yet, we still have to set up and all. I will try to get pictures later. It is a crazy weekend. Thursday night was a costume party at the local library. Autumn was photographed for the local paper, it hasn't come out yet. Party Saturday, party today, party tomorrow at school and then trick or treating tomorrow night. Lots of fun.
I hope everyone has a great Halloween. I will talk to everyone soon.

Tuesday's Tallies
Hello everyone,
How is everyone today? I have been busy this week, but as always, I have made time for my projects. My Grandala blanket is coming along nicely. I have finished all the solid rimmed discs and now have only got to finish the multi-colored ones and then I will be finished with this project. I am really loving this blanket again. I have 100 squares left to do, but that really isn't bad. I have made 188 so far. I am going to start to sew them together now with every 8 multi-colored discs I complete. I have a pattern for the colors, it isn't random. Every solid is followed by a multi. Like this...
This is what I did this week...
Here is what I have for this blanket so far...
The folded up piece is what has been sewn together already. If you just landed here, this is all a part of the One-a-Day group over at Ravelry. It is hosted by Gingerbreadgirl. She does the Tuesday's Tallies and links all the blogs participating. If you want to see everyone's awesome work go visit her blog.
I also worked on my husband's scarf, I am upset that no matter what I do you can't see the cable stitch. I am going to try to take pictures of it outside next time to see if it shows up...
I put in a little time on my Happy Ripple too, it is part of a ripple along hosted by Little Tin Bird and Attic24. I probably work on this the most. It is very addictive...
Lastly, I spent an evening working on the Christmas Blanket. It is for someone I love who doesn't know I am making it. The person may read my blog, so I call it the Christmas Blanket. I have it's real title on my project page on Ravelry. The person in question is not a yarn head like I am, so I think it is safe on Ravelry. I want this blanket to be perfect, so I spend loads of time trying to decide which patterns I am going with next. I do know what I am doing next and am going to devote some serious time to it this week. It doesn't look too much different than the last time I posted about it, but here it is...
This blanket is massive also. It is for a queen size bed, like the Grandala. My Happy Ripple is huge too, but it is for our sofa. I think all three of us will fit under it. Lol. I am also working on a little girl's birthday present and will post about that one in a day or two. Thanks for reading my blog and I will talk to you all soon.

Weekend
Hello,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. We had a good one here. Yesterday I made a bag and lined it with my winnings from the giveaway that Deb hosted. I also sewed the pretty little flowers on to the bag and here is what I came up with..
The flowers and pink fabric were perfect for the bag. Thank you Deb!
I spent today cleaning and cooking and, of course, crocheting. While I was cleaning a friend stopped by and offered to take Autumn to the pumpkin patch. They carved pumpkins and she is really proud of this guy.
She carved it all by herself, I am a little impressed. She is 5. She made two more, but took them to her room and then fell asleep. I don't want to try to get them out of there to take a picture.
I usually make a big dinner on Sunday. Today I made roast beef, mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Then, because I LoVe to bake, I made a cake...
I went all out on this cake. Chocolate devils food with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate frosting. We like chocolate just a little bit in this house.
Then I worked on my One-a-Day...
The last thing we did this weekend was get 22 goodie bags ready for Autumn's class. They are having a Halloween party and even though it is a week away we had to get it done today. I am partnered with one of the other class Mom's, so we got half of the stuff and got it ready then I am handing the whole thing over to her tomorrow for her to finish. I am glad I had someone to help with it. 22 goodie bags can get pricey. They are all boxed and ready...
And yes those are records in the stereo cabinet. Shows our age. Lol. All in all it was a nice weekend. I will see everyone on Tuesday for the One-a-Day update.
